Nashville, Tenn. (September 14, 2009) – Alturas Productions recording artist Jaime Thietten has been invited to showcase at several events sponsored by Family Life International of New Zealand. Thietten and her husband Pete Espil will begin a ten day event filled journey throughout the beautiful and mysterious island country where the Lord of the Rings was filmed.

Starting in Wellington, on September 29th, Thietten will perform her powerful 2009 Momentum Award winning song entitled My Chance along with a full set of music for Family Life International sponsored Life Fest 2009. The event features some of the very best national and International speakers on Pro-Life issues and relevant topics relating to our day-to-day lives.

From there she will travel north and round out her trip with feature performances on October 2nd through 4th in Auckland at the 2009 International Life, Faith and Family conference. Her husband will also be a featured speaker at the events. Espil is a Youth Minister, Pro-Life and Social Justice Activist.

With clarity for God’s calling upon her heart, Jaime is dedicating a portion of her music ministry to raise awareness and become a voice for the unborn and for those who cannot speak for themselves. Although she has never experienced an abortion herself, God has put upon her heart a passion to help those who have experienced this devastating emotional trauma to heal and find hope.

“I am honored and feel so blessed to be able to share "My Chance" with the wonderful people of New Zealand. Never in my wildest dreams did I think this song would reach the world like it has or that I would be traveling all that way to share this song. God never ceases to amaze me at how powerful He really is”, says Thietten.

Colleen Bayer, founder and organizer for FLI in New Zealand adds, “My greatest prayer is that this will work for Jaime as she is just so gracious and I know many graces will flow from her generosity of heart and amazing talent.”

"So many children lose their lives every day," Jaime says. "People have asked me why I would want to tackle such a controversial subject at this time in my musical career. My answer is that we can't afford to wait. Lives need to be saved now. I'm not worried about what others think."

About Family Life International of New Zealand: For more information please visit: http://www.fli.org.nz Our aim is to promote the full dignity and wonder of human life (from the moment of natural conception to the moment of natural death), of human sexuality, of marriage and family, and to inform and protect kiwi women and their babies from the harm of abortion. We do this by providing education and formation events and resources; by advocating for life, faith and family issues in the New Zealand media; and by running crisis-pregnancy centers, offering post-abortion counseling and much more. Family Life International is a Catholic organization dedicated to educating, advocating and carrying out practical work in support of life, faith and family.

About Jaime Thietten: For more information please visit www.jtmusic.net As an artist of faith, Jaime challenges us to look past the limitations of our humanity such as denomination, background and appearances which only create divisive relationships built on the fear of differences. Through her music she encourages us to see the Love, Grace and Mercy of Jesus, and that we are called to be as one through Christ. Her desire is to lift up, in hope and forgiveness, those who are hurting, alone and afraid.

Editor's note. I know a lot of people will want to comment on this. Please write me at daveandrusko@gmail.com.

Although the talent on display may be decidedly uneven, my wife and I never miss "American Idol." We are hooked, because what you see is a vivid reminder that there are musical diamonds in the rough just waiting to be discovered.

How fitting that I should have my first exposure to "My Chance," an extraordinarily sensitive and powerful pro-life song performed by Jaime Thietten, on Tuesday afternoon, hours before AI. When NRL Convention Director Jacki Ragan Im-ed me a link, it came with Jacki's highest commendation.
